Technical Description:
Rittal cabinets assembly box, 290.5mm deep, for installation in 482.6mm (19) Rittal cabinets or box. Prepared for installing VME bus cards and drivers. Includes MPS monitoring (see p. 501/502). Compliant with IEC60297-3-101.-102, -103, fully installed, pre-wired and tested.

General technical data of the VME bus
The Rittal cabinets VME bus is based on the standards IEEE1014 and IEC821, which have become industrial standards all over the world. As an extension of the VME series, VME64 is based on ANSIVITA1-1994, which allows 64-bit data transmission. According to ANSI/VITA1.1-1997, VME64x makes the VME series expand, and there are 133 poles 2mm connector JO for users to choose. A 160-pole connector is used in the VME64x. As before, the system is backward compatible, so assemblies with 96-pole connectors according to IEC60603-2 can continue to be used. All Rittal VMEbus backplanes are configured as high-speed design layouts. Low reflection performance is achieved by the uniform wave impedance of the signal line. Keeping the knockout of each signal line at all times guarantees minimum coupling, thus guaranteeing interference-free operation even with 64-bit modules using the 2e protocol (160 Mbyte/s).
Daisy Chain Cabling
Rittal cabinets daisy chain wiring is divided into manual daisy chain and automatic daisy chain. The automatic daisy chain makes the insertion of jumpers redundant, and the user can save laborious and time-consuming plugging and unplugging work. And it can avoid possible wrong plugging phenomenon. Automated daisy chaining can be accomplished in two ways. In principle, the Rittal VME bus backplane is supplied to the customer's Rittal Air Conditionersr maintenance in the form of an automated daisy chain.

In order to avoid signal line disturbances caused by reflections at open line terminations, terminations must be installed in the VME bus. Performed on the Open/Input board (on the bus backplane) or on the Off board (external). There are two types of terminal loads: passive and active. The advantage of active terminations is the low closed-circuit current consumption. The advantages of passive terminal loads are mainly better frequency characteristics and a wider temperature range.
