Technical Description:
Component boxes, 290.5 mm deep, for installation in 482.6 mm (19) Rittal cabinets or boxes. Prepared for installing VME bus cards and drivers. Includes MPS monitoring (see p. 501/502). Complies with IEC 60 297-3-101.-102, -103, fully installed, pre-wired and tested.
VMEbus bus backplane, technical data
The VME bus is based on the standards IEEE 1014 and IEC 821, which have become industry standards worldwide. As an extension of the VME series, VME64 is based on ANSIVITA 1-1994, which allows 64-bit data transmission. According to ANSIVITA1.1-1997, VME64x enables the VME series to be expanded, and there are 133 poles 2 mm connector JO for users to choose. A 160-pole connector is used in the VME64x. As before, this system is backward compatible, so components with 96-pole connectors according to IEC 60 603-2 can continue to be used. All Rittal cabinets VME bus backplanes are configured as a high-speed design layout. Low reflection performance is achieved by the homogeneous wave impedance of the signal lines of the Rittal Air Conditioners. Keeping the knockout of each signal line at all times guarantees a minimum coupling and thus guarantees interference-free operation even with 64-bit modules with the 2e protocol (160 Mbyte/s).
Daisy Chain Cabling
Daisy chain wiring is divided into manual daisy chain and automatic daisy chain. The automatic daisy chain makes the insertion of jumpers redundant, and the user can save laborious and time-consuming plugging and unplugging work. And it can avoid possible wrong plugging phenomenon. Automated daisy chaining can be accomplished in two ways. In principle, the Rittal Air Conditioners VME bus backplane is supplied to Rittal after-sales customers in the form of an automated daisy chain.
In order to avoid signal line interference caused by reflection at the open line terminal, terminal pieces must be installed in the VME bus. Performed on the Open/Input board (on the bus backplane) or on the Off board (external). There are two types of terminal loads for Rittal Air Conditioners: passive and active. The advantage of active terminations is the low closed-circuit current consumption. The advantages of passive terminal load are mainly better frequency characteristics and wider temperature range.
